For companies looking for supply models out of the scope of the AWR, the Swedish Derogation model is certainly an interesting one. In brief, it means that you are employing workers on a fixed hours contract (up to 250 hours I believe?)
One of the disadvantages is whether or not the company using this model can afford to pay their 'employees' 50% of their pay in between assignment.
Swedish Derogation may be deemed as an AWR 'fix' however, in my opinion; the commercial sustainability of this model is questionable. The REC raised some interesting points in their article dated the 10th September. They highlight how new models can create new risks; an interesting read; ttp://www.rec.uk.com/press/news/1208
